[Tip] How NOT To Get Scammed!!

So I see scammers day in and day out ripping off new and old players alike. And well like many people I am sick of it. If we can`t get their IPS and accounts banned quick enough then the only way to fight back is to teach others how not to get scammed!!


Its very simple to not get scammed. I have never been scammed and never will be scammed. By following these simple rules as you play you will never be scammed either.



Rules:



1) Do NOT ever share your account. If you give the password to one person you might as well broadcast it to the server. I do not care if they are "real life" friends or you have been playing online games with them forever. A secret is NEVER a secret unless you are the ONLY person who knows it.


2) NEVER buy accounts. This is a scam. They already know all the information needed to change the password. It doesn`t matter if they give you all the information. You might as well consider yourself as sharing the account with them. Which brings us back to rule number 1.


3) NEVER buy items/accounts for real cash. You send them the money and you never see the item!! There is nothing forcing them to trade with you after they have the cash. And NEVER sell items for real cash. This is against the rules and a fast way to get your account banned. Those "different" accounts are the same group of people who are scamming the whole sever. They just make new accounts as they get caught.


4) Related to rule number 1. NEVER loan any items or pets you want to see again. There is NOTHING forcing that user to give them back to you. You might as well kiss them good-bye or hope and pray you actually loaned them to a decent player.


5) Do NOT visit websites that offer cheats/bots more then likely they have nothing you can use to cheat and are only installing a Keylogger on your computer. Then kiss your good gear good-bye. Do NOT visit websites broadcasted or given to you by another user. Once again its just to get your user name and password.



Rules for Trading:


1) ALWAYS trade in the market or a non-pk zone. No need to get killed senselessly because they are hoping you will drop the item.


2) ALWAYS check your trade window!!!


  a) If you are selling do NOT click trade until they have locked in their gold or EPs. Also confirm the EPs are EPs and not just gold.


  b) If you are buying ONLY check off your Eps/money until they have clicked Trade. You want the item locked in so they can`t run with your money.


  c) If you are buying watch out for the item switch. They will close the trade window "by accident" and reopen a trade with you. The items will be the same level as what they first offered but won`t be the same item. Example: Elite +12 socketed Robe replaced with an Elite Robe


And the most important rule of all...


   THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES!!!


Follow these simple common sense rules and you will never be scammed!! I may get some grief saying I am teaching people how to scam. But the fact remains they already know they have had years to prefect it on other games that shall remain nameless. The best way to beat anything is to be informed so I hope this at least teaches one person how not to get scammed.
