Birth of a Mage - End of an Era and a New Beginning
The weeks that followed will forever be the best times of my life. We shared everything, laughs, adventures, legion war, quests, and yes, even cries. So engulfed were with our own little private heaven, that we did not notice the gradual disappearance of our legion's leaders. By the time we emerged from this blissful time, it was too late, they were gone. They left no word, no instructions, and no guidance. They did leave however, confusion, uncertainty, and amongst the newest members, fear. For a while we tried to handle questions and problems as best as we could.
But with no authority and no guidance, any attempt of maintaining structure and order had to fail. We waited for word for what seemed like forever. More and more members started to leave. And finally, after long and agonizing discussions with no solution in sight, we decided to look for a new home too. We looked at all the great and small legions in this land. We had friends in many of them, and it was hard to decide where to go. Demon Hunters had been our home for a long time, and it would not be easily replaced. It might not have been a mighty and powerful legion then but it was a nice and comfortable place to be.
In the end we decided to ask for acceptance into Valhall. And on a crisp winter's evening, we joined them. Valhall was quite different from what we were used to. This was a powerful and mighty legion. Awe inspiring warriors and the most beautiful ladies you ever saw were gathered here. Some say, just hearing the word Valhall, would make some adventurers tremble.
But as fearsome as they seemed, they were a welcoming crowd. We were made to feel at home from the very beginning. And after a few days of adjustment, we settled into our new home quite nicely. We continued to grow, fought along side our comrades in many great wars, and shared lots of laughter and frolicking on quiet evenings, enjoying life every day. And although a great legion also has great enemies, even dieing was thrilling. Well, I will not lie, at times having that many strong enemies was rather unnerving, and being who I am, sometimes my temper got the better of me. For the most part though, when I got myself into situations I could not handle yet, my husband and my legion mates were always there to hunt the perpetrators down.
And so I am still growing, learning and raising my demons. Growing and learning to one day become one of the great fighters whose names are recorded in history. Names whispered amongst others with reverence, respect, admiration and maybe, fear. I have no doubt, in time, my husband and I will achieve this goal. We are at the beginning of our journey, not the end. And if you ever roam through Misty Marsh, come by the ogre tree at the edge of the cliff.
You will find us there, watching out for newcomers, listening to chatter all around us, training newly hatched demons. Or look us up at Sodar, in Cronus, when we keep company with the great warriors of our legion. You might catch us in Elven City at the grocery, just sitting there and watching the sun paint patterns through the leaves on a quiet summer evening. We are at the beginning of great new adventures, and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. The journey it seems, has no end, the journey begins anew, every day.
