After a hasty retirement from a quick ascension to fame and power, the old hero returns to find few of his old battle-friends still in action, and fewer still remembering who he had been. Those he knew, have a faint memory of him, and his treasured artifacts, his powerful runesword and enchanted necklace, both laced over with many strong enchantments to increase his power in combat, are no longer his. His retirement was hasty, and his return to the fields of battle leave him only a weak demon beside him to protect.

How will he reclaim his treasured artifacts? He can no longer use them, for their power in their new owner`s hands have exceeded his ability to control them, though they still hold his brand to declare them as his eternally, no matter who may wield them.

His quest to regain his former glory will be hard, as all of his pupils and companions are now far exceeding him in ability. A once master in the art of combat in the world has now been cast aside as a commoner.

He must find a way to carve out his name again with a dull steel-brand that holds no enchantment, with demons that have found their way into his company, and with the few friends who remember him from the good old days.
